Dr. Tim has been conducting psychotherapy service since 2002. He is proficient in clinical assessment and has rich experience in treating various psychological issues including mood disorders, addictions, traumas, personal development, and relationship problems. He provided services for several social welfare organizations and clinics in Australia, China, and Hong Kong. He also taught psychology courses and provided clinical supervision in several tertiary institutions in Hong Kong. Dr. Tim has many years of experience in collaborating with psychiatrists to improve clients’ psychological coping through psychotherapy, to achieve better outcomes and to reduce the rate of relapse.

Dr. Tim is deeply interested in neurobiological studies and seeks to provide services and improve treatment efficacy based on scientific evidence.

Dr. Tim adopts an integrated treatment model. He found that the underlying causes of various psychological, emotional and relational issues (e.g. depression, anxiety, OCD, addiction, personality disorders or relational problems), can often be traced to intra and inter-personal psychological difficulties including relational traumas, insecure attachment styles, or low self-acceptance.
Dr. Tim has received training in various treatment models including psychodynamics, cognitive behavioral, emotion focused, systemic family therapies, AEDP, EMDR, focusing, and brain spotting. Drawing on his clinical experiences for over 20 years, he developed an integrated experiential treatment approach combining cognitive and emotional skills, targeting on the building of healthy intra and inter-personal relationship. The model seeks to deliver healings in psychological traumas, addiction, relationship, and emotional problems, through establishment of secure attachment, self-compassion, and healthy relationship with oneself and others. Dr. Tim has written treatment manuals on applying the integrated approach in addiction treatments.
